adventure time lore is insane. it starts off just being a goofy kids show that has magic for no reason, but then you learn that all magic users are manic and/or depressed (what betty calls sadness and madness). because it turns out magic is actually a cosmic force beyond mortal comprehension, that itself was learned from cosmic entities that predated the existence of time itself inside a sea of monsters. and "magic" really is just understanding more about the nature of the universe than most people. that, in a way, reality isnt "real" and understanding that allows you to mold it. and thats magic. but that drives you to insanity and/or apathy. and there are beings who hold significant cosmic importance who are more prone to magic. and the reason magic became prevalent on earth is because of a nuclear war a thousand years ago, which released the entity that represents the destruction of all life onto the world. and after a nuclear apocalypse this gave way to a new earth, where magic could thrive. but a lot of the beings we see arent even magical, theyre just mutants from what happened 1000 years ago. and humanity as we know it has been all but wiped out. but everything stays the same because cycles of war and violence continue. and it doesnt matter if its nukes or magic. everything stays the same, but still changes.
A thought about the John Wick universe rattling around my head like a bean in a jar:
Everyone who meets john wick is in some ways immediately in love with him. Every movie introduces new characters who greet this isolated, self-contained man (who barely says a word) with gentle joy at their reunion, even if - especially if - they’re there to kill him. Immediate loyalty and affection. Oh John I was so sorry to hear about your recent loss. Even sorrier to have to kill you. No one regrets more than I due to the love and loyalty I bear you. Please, how might I assist you, just say the word. Let me break all the rules just to lay my cloak at your feet. It will blow my entire life up irrevocably to help you - but you do need help and we go way back and you’re looking at me with your big brown eyes, so like I will definitely do that for you baby. More than one enemy pauses mid-fight to allow him a respectful breather, just thrilled to do so. All this while the movie denies us ANY FLASHBACKS AT ALL to his previous encounters with any of these people. Closest we get is the pencil anecdote? I think? A veil has been delicately drawn over his past that inspired such devotion, but as a viewer you are 100% convinced the love is REAL. They do go way back and it must have been quite a time. Even ‘antagonists’ who hold the role of smug pre-dead guy are all ‘oh John you’re just so gosh darn impressive, I tell all my friends about how great you are, genuinely honoured to be murdered by you’. And you know what, that’s fair.
I just finished re-watching this serie and, since I’ve always been a fan of Haruhi, I decided to draw her in every outfit she weared throughout the anime (except the c*p one and the ones she had in Tamaki’s delusions). Haru is one of the few gender queer main characters in all animes so she was a very important character for me when figuring out what was gender and how did I wanted to express mine! The building in all relationships is so wholesome, too!! I’m.. Soft…
I swear if there is no plans to remake this anime, as soon as I graduate, I’ll do the remake myself because I SO NEED IT.
I really wanna go to a rave but i'm scared because I jusg so happen to have the cop body type. And i only wear black steel toes twnnis shoes becau,e i'm scared of getting my wittle feet hurt... and i really wanna smoke weed there or do some dmt or someting but i'm autistic so i don't know the right social cues to ask for drugs so i always just ask people on the atreet if they havw drugs and they never say yes theg always leave me so im scared if I do that at the rave people will leave me... and i keep a walkie talkie in my pocket so i can always call my mommy when i'm scared...... so yeah
